I am trained to Masters level and have been practicing as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist since 2007.
I originally accredited with UKCP, though have since chosen to leave them and am currently a registered member of BACP. I have regular supervision. I am also recognised by BUPA and have a recent DBS check. I work from the lovely setting of Kilver Court, Shepton Mallet, Somerset BA4 5NF.
I can help people of all ages gain insights into and find ways to manage challenging emotions and behaviours, in turn, discovering their true selves and fulfilling their potential in life.
On the following pages I describe how counselling and psychotherapy can benefit children, adolescents and adults alike. I explain the different ways in which I work and the tools and strategies I may use to help you or your child cope with challenges such as depression, anxiety, anger, bereavement and trauma, amongst others.
If you are considering bringing a younger child (e.g. under 10) to see me, please bear in mind that I only generally offer 1:1 sessions (with myself and the child). Whilst this is beneficial for the child themselves, parents often want to see a big behavioural change at home and school. This is generally best achieved through family therapy where the dynamics of the entire family are explored and worked through.
Enjoy browsing and I look forward to hearing from you.
